Facebook and Instagram are down. Users aren’t taking it well from Mashable

If you’re wondering, Facebook and Instagram went down Tuesday morning and the internet hasn’t taken too kindly to this. As Elena Cavender reported:

More than 500,000 users reported Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger outages starting around 10:08 am EST to Down Detector. Reports spiked at 10:30 am EST. Down Detector is owned by ZiffDavis, Mashable’s parent company. There are over 24,000 posts on Twitter / X about the Facebook and Instagram outage.

Reactions on X (formerly Twitter) range from outrage to jokes about the grim reality that we might have to “touch grass.”

Other reactions pointed out the mass exodus to X to check if the other popular sites were down. Given X’s history of dealing with spikes in traffic, some are concerned that X won’t last long into the day either.

Hopefully, this doesn’t last all day, lest we have to interact with our friends and family (yikes!).
